The “Mercedes-Benz Presents” program recognises designers that demonstrate dedication to the use of quality materials, unique style and innovative design. Carla Zampatti, former recipient of the Australian Fashion Industry’s highest award – the Australian Fashion Laureate – joins a prestigious list of “Mercedes-Benz Presents” designers including Australia’s Easton Pearson and Johanna Johnson. Globally, Carla Zampatti joins ranks with designers including Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Hervé Léger by Max Azria, Narciso Rodriguez, Schumacher, Mattijs Van Bergen and Alena Akhmadullina.
“Carla Zampatti is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most established and influential designers. We are honored to welcome her into the ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ program, which continues to support the industry globally.”
“Luxury craftsmanship and classic lines are considered from every angle in a Carla Zampatti garment, as it is in the creation of a Mercedes-Benz car which is a creative synergy we are celebrating through the ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ show,” said Horst von Sanden, CEO, Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific.
On receiving the offer to launch 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, Carla Zampatti said: “I am delighted to work in partnership with a brand like Mercedes-Benz. It is synonymous with innovative, timeless design and excellent quality just like my own brand. I feel very honoured to have been asked to open this prestigious event.”
‘Mercedes-Benz Presents Carla Zampatti’ is scheduled for 5:00 pm on Sunday 06 April at Carriageworks, the home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.
