Some eight local kidswear brands opened the seventh edition of the international swimwear showcase Gran Canaria Moda Calida Fashion Week with their latest collections.

Fashion label Oh! Soleil showed a bi-colored tricot made Summer 2015 line replete with sailor stripes, polka dots, gingham and marine life-inspired prints including seahorses, stars, kelp and whales. The dual tone combinations of the ensembles were navy and red, purple and white, white and coral, persimmon and strawberry, strawberry and gray, red and turquoise, purple and turquoise, and different shades of blue.

Lady Bug’s Cris showcased a swimsuit range decorated with prints of abstract ladybugs, pies and azaleas, while fashion designer Antonio Sangoó’s Sweet Sweet line featured a heavy on red and navy collection at the Canary Islands event.

Designer Helena Martin took inspiration from Napoleon Bonaparte’s wife’s Parisian rose garden for her latest Le Petit Mariette collection decorated with prints of flowers, birds and delicate rose petals.

Summer Time, from Elena Rubio, showed both beachwear and swimwear, which included dresses, polo shirts, shirts, swimsuits, bikinis and shorts in rich vivid hues of green, blue, pink and orange.

Canary designer Luis Mentado presented some flora and fauna, tattoo and comics inspired pieces under the brand XTG label. Le Petit Croissier’s catwalk collection, which was peppered with motifs of vegetables and the French country side, was a visual tour to the palace of Versailles and its gardens as well as the 18th-century Rococo art.

The scenic beauty of Netherlands played as muse for The Paper Barquito’s designer Nuria Diaz Pavón’s line which was adorned with prints of flowers, fruits, fish, bicycle and patterns of traditional Dutch ceramics.

In addition to the above mentioned names, Spanish label Dolores Cortés and Californian brand Banana Moon also presented their tiny swimsuit ranges at the event.
