"In addition, retailers told us that they were very appreciative of the "How the West Is One" campaign which, for the first time, united the entire Los Angeles marketplace and its three venues (CMC, the LA Mart, and the California Gift Show) into a seamless, cohesive buying experience offering shared badges and convenient shuttles between the locations."

Retailers and showrooms alike were enthusiastic about their experience at the Summer LA Gift and Home Market at the CMC. Rosalie Kaplan, founder of the nationally known sales organization Rosalie & Friends reports, "We saw buyers from all over the country-many from Southwest states like Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico, but also as far away as Missouri and locations further East - and we were visited by a great variety of stores, ranging from famous botanical gardens, to huge casinos. We find that retailers may be placing smaller orders, but they are doing so far more often. In fact, all of our customers have been very positive, telling us that 2014 has been their best year in the last five years. Rosalie & Friends had an excellent Summer Market."

Other CMC showrooms happily noticed the increase of traffic, as retailers took advantage of the cross-buying opportunities available in the fashion and children's showroom areas of the California Market Center. Observes Joseph Guttentag, owner of fashion accessories exhibitor Troy Designs, a 25-year tenant in CMC, "We definitely saw above-average traffic from gift and lifestyle retailers during the LA Gift & Home Market. They came over from the gift, home and design floors to discover our fashion accessories merchandise, and placed orders from our wholesale collection."
