The just wrapped up 60th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid showcased fresh Spring/Summer 2015 designs from a host of young and seasoned labels.

The Barcelonan casual clothing brand Desigual kicked off the six-day-long soiree with its fun colourful collection titled Say Something Nice. Enhanced with vibrant prints, the easy-breezy outfits were striking minidresses, sporty shorts and floral maxis in shades of yellow, blue, green, white and orange.

The Galician fashion veteran Roberto Verino drew inspiration from Mexican culture for his new catwalk creations. Adorned with Aztec details and fringes, the line included floaty dresses, transparent blouses and tops, tiny shorts, suits, jackets and ponchos in gray, blue, red, white, black and fuchsia tones.

The Buenos Aires-born Spanish design talent Roberto Torretta highlighted a very sophisticated line crafted from leather, silk, tulle and gauze fabrics. Enhanced with varying volumes and asymmetrical cuts, the featured pieces were skirts, dresses and eveningwear in hues of white, black, pale pink, blue and bottle green.

The local fashion designer Amaya Arzuaga wove magic through her zipper embellished and overlapping layers infused mini dresses in a palette of white, black, turquoise and red hues whereas designer Ulises Mérida opted for a more oriental style looks, which included linen, silk and cotton made dresses, for the next S/S season.

Arnaud Maillard and Alvaro Castejón, the creative heads behind the Alvarno label, adopted fruity styles for the next season trends. Titled as La luz de Madrid, el espíritu de París (meaning The light of Madrid, the spirit of Paris), the collection was inspired from the works of Hungarian–French artist Victor Vasarely. Made using suede, leather, printed silks and lace, the collection showcased red, blue, orange and black coloured jackets, skirts and dresses with dramatically low necklines and intricately detailed shoulders.
