A Kingston University fashion design student named Sarah Hellen has created a new contemporary menswear collection that celebrates the rich artistic legacy of Wales.

The Wrexham-born and raised talent took inspiration from the workwear styles of the country’s steelworkers and exquisite artworks crafted by the artisans of her native place for her clothing line.
Decorated with delicate copper designs and handmade badges emblazoned with iconic emblems, the range’s navy, cream and red colour scheme was inspired by an old 1970’s Wrexham football club badge.
The collection included short navy woolen jackets, loose fit tops, jackets embroidered with illustrations depicting local stories, over-sized knitted jumpers as well as a heritage check patterned full length coat made from fabrics supplied by the Welsh lifestyle brand Blodwen General Stores. (PB)
