The Indian fashion designer Poonam Dubey showcased her Goddess Durga inspired clothing collection titled Shakti on the third day of the ongoing 24th edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2015.
Incorporating a wide spectrum of colours ranging from fiery reds, burning gold to the soothing ivory and shimmering silver tones, the designer of international repute Dubey has infused the textile weaving art forms of West Bengal and Assam into her latest designs. The New Delhi-based brand Saaj by Ankita presented a modern interpretation of the legends, myths and occultism through its new S/S 15 collection named Nouveau Prophesy. Influenced from the crop circles and the observable symmetry of nature, the line is made from natural fabrics like jute, cotton, linen and flax. Based on organic feminine shapes and urban chic silhouettes, the gold, ivory and light and deep grey coloured line was accented with metallic yarns and gota embellishments.
Slated to run till October 12, 2014, the current season of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week includes an impressive line up of about 124 designers including Manish Arora, Malini Ramani, Wendell Rodricks, Gauri and Nainika, Nida Mehmood, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Ranna Gill and Varun Behl. (PB)
