American athleticwear manufacturer Reebok has come up with a new line of heavy-duty durable footwear for military and tactical duty professionals who work in hot and wet weather conditions.

Slated to hit stores in spring 2015, the boot incorporates special technology that keeps feet cool and comfortable in hot environments and dry in wet conditions.

Named Krios, the range is created in collaboration with the US-based exclusive licensee for Reebok military and tactical boots, Warson Brands, and the developer of waterproof breathable fabric Gore-Tex, W. L. Gore & Associates.

Talking about the collection, Bill Candy, product manager – Gore, said, “This is a new GORE-TEX footwear technology from Gore. GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Technology provides unrivaled breathability in hot weather and has been proven in lab tests to keep feet cool and comfortable in hot weather.”

John Duvic, Warson Brands’ corporate VP of product development explained, “We’ve been collaborating for years with Gore to develop and test this product. Our goal was to construct a waterproof, lightweight boot that is comfortable in hot conditions and strong enough for heavy duty use; the Reebok KRIOS achieves that goal.”

Built to thrive under the harshest weather conditions, the KRIOS series is infused with protective layers that reduce bulk, minimize water absorption to almost 90 per cent when compared to non-waterproof boots and dry quickly, preventing added weight in wet conditions.

Replete with abrasion resistant MeraMAX outsole, a rugged nylon and leather outer shell, and GORE-TEX® exoskeleton, the long-lasting 8-inch mil-spec boot line is available in desert tan, black, sage green and coyote colours. The range’s main features include a speed lacing system and electrical hazard protection.

The footwear line is presently on display at the ongoing shooting, hunting and outdoor gear and accessories centric trade event Shot Show, Las Vegas. Bill Mills, President, Jim Maritz, CEO, and Warson Brands sales and product development teams will be available at the trade fair’s booth 10179 till January 23, 2015 to demonstrate the Krios and answer any questions.

Headquartered in Newark, W. L. Gore & Associates is a privately held American manufacturing company that specializes in products derived from fluoropolymers.

Started in 1989, Warson Brands is a global manufacturer and marketer of military, tactical and industrial safety footwear. The company provides a variety of work and duty footwear under the world’s finest brand names including Reebok, Rockport Works, Florsheim, Iron Age, Grabbers and Knapp.

Based in Canton, Massachusetts, Reebok is the worldwide designer, marketer and distributor of fitness and lifestyle apparels, accessories and equipment. A subsidiary of the Adidas Group, the American-inspired label operates under multiple divisions including Reebok-CCM Hockey and the Sports Licensed Division. (PB)
