Tommy Hilfiger to celebrate 30th anniversary at NYFW today

American fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger is set to showcase its latest limited-edition Fall-2015 women’s runway collection on the sixth day of ongoing New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

With the aim to mark its 30th anniversary, the label’s exclusive creations, which will be premiered at the catwalk show on February 16, 2015 at Park Avenue Armory, will be instantly made available for purchase on tommy.com.

Speaking about the runway parade, the eponymous brand founder says, “This Fall we will celebrate our 30th anniversary with limited-edition product available to our consumers the moment the look steps onto the runway. Our inspiration this season is rooted in one of the most iconic and inclusive American past-times-football.”

“We will also continue to introduce innovative digital technology that democratizes the event and invites everyone to view the show in expanded, engaging ways,” he further adds.

Inspired from football, varsity motifs and the brand’s signature classic American sportswear designs, the new designs, which include a faux fur V-neck sweater in burgundy or oyster gray, are emblazoned with the number of the label’s milestone birthday.

Continuing Tommy Hilfiger's tradition of fashion week collaborations with social media innovators, the 30th anniversary sweater will debut on the brand’s Twitter stream, seconds before stepping onto the runway, using the popular Twitter Mirror, a software application that allows the user to take a selfie, edit it with personalized creative content and share the image globally via the label’s official Twitter feed.
