Several fashion industry giants are among this year’s Forbes magazine’s list of The World’s Billionaires. Noted apparel makers, retailers and owners of e-commerce businesses from across the globe have occupied covetable positions in this annual listing of the richest.

The founder of Galician brand Zara, Amancio Ortega, and the co-founder and chairman of sportswear giant Nike, Phil Knight, have been placed at 4th and 35th positions respectively.

Bernard Arnault (CEO of French multinational luxury goods conglomerate LVMH), Stefan Persson (chairman of Swedish multinational retailer H&M) and French retail holding company Kering’s founder, Francois Pinault, secured ranks 13, 28 and 65 in that order.

Tadashi Yanai, founder and president of Fast Retailing which owns Japanese brand Uniqlo, and Dieter Schwarz, owner of German retail group Schwarz Gruppe which operates Lidl and Kaufland brands, have been listed at numbers 41 and 46.

Also members of the Walton family, including Christy, Jim, Alice and S Robson, from the American multinational retail corporation Wal-Mart have been set at the 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th rankings.

In addition to fashion brands and retailers, the list also includes names of leading online purveyors like the CEO and founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos (ranked at 15), executive chairman of Chinese internet-based business Alibaba Group, Jack Ma (33rd position) as well as the head of German retail e-commerce business Otto group, Michael Otto (50th position).
