Amazon.in new title sponsor for India Couture Week

The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the apex fashion body in India, has announced that e-commerce major Amazon.in will be official title sponsor of the India Couture Week 2015.

In a press statement, FDCI said the India Couture Week 2015, the country’s most exclusive couture event will be held over five days from July 29 to August 2 at Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi. FDCI’s extended partnership with Amazon.in is a clear indicator of both organizations’ commitment to promoting the fashion industry.

“We are very happy to announce our growing relationship with Amazon.in which together amplifies the business of fashion. Couture has always led the Indian high-end market, which is why a platform like this is significant. We look forward to an even more exciting experience this season, resulting in higher visibility and popularity. Our sponsor’s support is key to the event’s success,” said Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI.

Vikas Purohit, head of Amazon Fashion, India said, “We are very excited to take our partnership with FDCI a step further with the upcoming Amazon India Couture Week 2015. This is in line with our vision of transforming the way India sells and shops for fashion online. We believe we have the opportunity to partner with the fashion fraternity to leverage the power of technology and reinvent fashion shopping experience for customers across the country and the globe.”

The FDCI also announced that leading jewelry brand Sunar Jewelers will be an associate sponsor for the India Couture Week 2015.

“We are extremely delighted to partner with FDCI and couture week. This five day spectacular fashion affaire will mark the launch of our luxury bridal collection. The beautiful couture clothing range by the best fashion designers of the country will be accompanied by precious jewels of Sunar,” said Praveen Goel CMD, Sunar.

The gold partners for the event are Heroine, one of the leading fashion brand endorsed by leading stars from celluloid and the leading luxury brand, Preciosa the world's top supplier of the highest quality machine-cut Czech crystal components. The event will see new energy and exclusivity with the new sponsors on board, the statement said. (SH)
