RAG Beteiligungs-AG now Evonik Industries AG

Evonik Industries AG is the new name unveiled of the former RAG Beteiligungs-AG and the name under which it plans to come to the capital markets in the first half of 2008.
Evonik Industries AG is a modern industrial group focused on three attractive, promising business areas: Chemicals, Energy and Real Estate.
We are a world leader in specialty chemicals, experts in power generation from hard coal and renewable energies, and one of the largest private residential real estate companies in Germany.
In 2006 we had over 43,000 employees and generated sales of around EUR 14.8 billion and an operating profit (EBIT) of over EUR 1.2 billion.
Evonik's Chemicals business area, previously known by the name Degussa, offers a broad portfolio of products and solutions, with a correspondingly wide range of applications.
They find use, for example, in the automotive, plastics and rubber industries. We also have customers in the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, cosmetics, paint, sealant and adhesive sectors. We are market leader in more than 80 percent of our Chemicals businesses.
