WGSN Street Directions for BREAD & BUTTER

This season WGSN, the industry's leading information and trend analysis service, joins BREAD & BUTTER to give exclusive trend seminars, presenting Street Directions for 2009 and a sneak peak at colour trends for autumn/winter 2009/10.

The free seminars will take place at BBBarcelona in the Superior Hall in Sala D on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th January at 14:00h. It is the first time that BREAD & BUTTER hosts seminars at the event.

Karl-Heinz Müller, president from BREAD & BUTTER: “We're delighted that WGSN has joined us to give our visitors valuable trend information that will inform their buying and planning for the forthcoming seasons. At each tradeshow for selected brands, we strive to add to the buyers` BREAD & BUTTER experience. These seminars will give exclusive market insight and analysis.”

Maria Janssen, Global Managing Editor for Youth Street and Sport at WGSN, will talk through WGSN's street trends for spring/summer 2009 including colour, graphics, styling, silhouettes and inspiration from cities around the world.

Using this commercial perspective, she will refer to the three main directions identified by WGSN: Connect, the revitalisation of the urban environment; Transform which sees the morphing of biology and technology to simplify future design and add useful solutions, and ExtraOrdinary, celebrating the downright ordinary and slower approach that allows enjoyment of the benefits of real life.

As an ex-design director for Nike, Maria trained at Central Saint Martins and has over 15 years' experience in the sports and fashion industry. She has designed for Pringle, Marks & Spencer supplier Desmonds, Ellesse, and launched as well as designed for the street label Tegmund.
