Karen Walker descends her Angel at NYFW

Karen Walker, New Zealand's leading fashion designer showcased her winter collection, Angel, for 2008 in New York Fashion Week (NYFW) on February 5. The week long fashion fest comes to an end today with setting various trends for fashionistas.

It was the fourth time that Karen Walker made the models take the ramp by storm through her designs at NYFW.

Karen is known for her well crafted tailored crisp designs. Her cream soothing cotton creations with frills, laces and floral prints were inspired by Edwardian Childs wear and dolls' clothes. There were coats in scarlet and cobalt colours which were given a shrunken look.

The tops and dresses were cutely curled and tucked. Onlookers could feel the mix of sensational and sweetness of 60s along with the rebel of 90's. The most talked creations of the evening were tuxedo jackets, blazers which could be teamed up with slim and straight trousers.

Ms Walker has recently come up with flagship pop up store, The Den, in New York. It will present apparels, eyewear and jewellery designed by her, to take the brand to another level altogether.
