More buyers from around Russia visit Eastern Europe's leading fashion trade fair 25% more exhibitors and collections, 16% more exhibition space, 7% more visitors and a buoyant mood prevailed throughout the halls.

Drawing to a close on Friday, the tenth “edition” of CPM – Collection Première Moscow (26 to 29 February) entirely fulfilled the high expectations placed on this anniversary event.

By preliminary accounts of the Düsseldorf-based organiser the Igedo Company more then 18,000 registered buyers attended Eastern Europe's leading fashion fair gathering information on the nearly 1,500 exhibitors and collections for the 2008/2009 Autumn/Winter season.

Almost one in five came from abroad, predominantly from the neighbouring CIS states (all figures stated refer to the event in February 2007).

Nearly one third of exhibitors polled in a representative survey said they had noted professionalism on the buyers' side had increased even further. Over 70% of the buyers at CPM were decision-makers.

Approximately 40% of visitors came from Moscow and the Moscow metropolitan region, 60% from other parts of Russia and the neighbouring Eastern European and Central Asian states.

CPM registered an above-average increase in attendance especially from the regions surrounding St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Khabarovsk in East Siberia.

Summing up results on the fourth and last day of the trade fair, Frank Hartmann, the CEO and President of Igedo, said: “The Russian fashion market continues to see very dynamic growth as does CPM.

This is reflected by the record number of participants registered at the 10th CPM and the clear indication of further growth in all segments.

Again the basic mood prevailing in the exhibition halls was excellent and the stands were buzzing with business. CPM has both impressively underlined and further enhanced its role as the leading fashion trade fair for Eastern Europe.”
