Fabrics for spring/summer 2009

Mar '08
In February 2008, three large Brazilian industries introduced their launches in fabrics for spring/summer 2009: Vicunha presented novelties with the Connect theme to the market, where denim was highlighted, especially in the “Denim Universe” division, which includes the Aquarius – 100% cotton and moove - with Elastane lines.

Other bets were seen in prints – from the most traditional to the most metallic, part of the Reflex line. The company innovated in its color chart, applying shiny silver on blue, gray and black bases, as well as lilac on blue bases.

In the “Colorjeans” launches, the industry sought inspiration in the “Beat Generation”, applying retro prints to ready-to-dye fabrics.

Santana Textil do Brasil introduced the result of the most recent fashion survey conducted in Barcelona (Spain) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates) in the beginning of 2008 by the company's Style team.

One of the company's most exciting novelties is the exclusive denims, produced in limited runs by the group's new brand, Loco Serious Denim.

They include the most recent launches by the Therapy (Therapy 10, Therapy Denim, Therapy Cross, Therapy Comfort, Poli Therapy, Poli Therapy Comfort) and Chronic (Chronic 10, Chronic Denim and Poli Chronic Comfort) lines.

At Santista Tavex, 23 new products were launched, mainly betting on the vintage trends in denim, natural fibers and sportswear. Company research has indicated naturally worn, rustic and aged jeans as the big bet for the Spring/Summer 2009.
