A timely and most wearable collection of western outfits for men and women was presented by Lecoanet Hemant on the evening of the first day of WIFW Autumn/Winter 2008.
Slim fitted pants were combined with short narrow jackets which displayed subtle pleated detailings. Voluminous woollen winter coats were worn over short metallic decorated tops.
The designers used unusual fabric combinations for their coordinates: high tech two tone materials with heavy falling hairy woollen materials which resulted in urban trendy outdoor outfits for the day.
The colour palette showed subdued hues with an iridescent touch such as midnight blue, jade green, canary yellow, burnt sienna, taupe and charcoal.
One of the main materials which had been used for this collection was soft nappa leather which came in various earthy shades and in appealing allover quilted textures.
Geometric surface embellishment inspired by Piet Mondrians artworks were interpreted through graphic appliqué work with superimposed material strips in patent leather.
Throughout the range one could observe the strong element of patent leather – seen in details as well as in functional accessories which smartly completed the city chic of this programme, be it through broad shiny belts or boots held together with black straps.
Fur was used for sleeveless raw waistcoats as well as for caps which added an arctic appeal to this winter programme. Well thought out and brilliantly executed detailing added that special element to the outfits.
