SUCHETA V MERH'S Autumn winter '08 collection on the final day of the fashion week derived it's inspiration from the rustic beauty of autumn in an old town, reviving memories of yesteryears.
Happiness, nostalgia and endless emotions of those days are projected in the visual dimensions of her collection. Appropriately called 'EARTHY MYTH', the collection absorbed colours from Earth's palette.
Colours like mud browns, forest greens, fruity plums and straw took over the ramp in a variety of silhouettes. The clothes were constructed to take form of layered, fitted and off shoulder dresses, wrapped skirts and pants of different lengths and sarees.
Styling details were seen in layered bell sleeves, crochet edgings, narrow pleated frills, circular and graduating hemlines, sheer draped cowl sleeves, exaggerated sleeves and dual hem lengths for fronts and backs.
Pants were given a twist of a new look in metallics with raised three dimensional patch pockets and cropped harem pants as well.
Silhouettes were fitted, flared and flowing. The gorgeous sarees in multi prints and colours were edged with dull gold and copper borders along with black metallic borders.
Treatments like tie and dye and other textures were incorporated using fabrics like soft silk organza, cotton net, chiffon, woven georgette, fluid jersey and soft washed satin.
The sophisticated look emphasises the girl woman conflict of the collection and at the same time retain's its individualistic presence.
