Anuj's Eyelet explicated an unadulterated fashion for A/W 2008

Last season Anuj Sharma proved that it is not the amount of fabric you use but how you use it and he turned 1.8 metres of black or white satin into a mind-boggling line up of women's dresses.

Just when everyone thought that, that was the best they had seen; Anuj pushed his creativity to the extreme and created unadulterated fashion for Autumn/Winter 2008 at Lakme Fashion Week; proving that he is the master of unstitched construction.

Knowing his warp and weft like the back of his hand; Anuj's collection titled Eyelet It Be was an amazing lesson in how square or rectangle pieces of fabrics can be turned into long or short dresses by just using eyelets to hold the sides.

Once again selecting just three colours – brown, grey and cream in a heavy polyester weave, he had stunning line of women's wear.

From the opening cream toga with eyelet edging, he moved to a brown Lurex plunge neck midi, and a complicated U neck gathered mini dress.

Turning up hemlines to create front drapes and achieving gathers from folds as well as reserving capes to turn into dresses, Anuj showed that the collection was a study in geometry and origami.

Everything from pleats, gathers, shapes were only achieved with the help of gold or silver eyelets. Confident in the power of his work, Anuj had bare footed models devoid of accessories or embellishments walk the show. The final creation a hooded cape dress was the ultimate design.

Leaving the audience breathless with his extreme creations Anuj Sharma has proved that he can deliver collections that are truly creative studies in fashion design.
