Consumers wishing to purchase the best quality diamond jewellery can now buy with confidence as the result of a pioneering initiative by the International Diamond Laboratories (IDL), whereby it will provide authentication certificates to diamond jewellery, following careful scientific examination of the product.

Damas is the first jewellery retailer to sign up for this latest initiative; all Damas diamond jewellery from its in-house brands will now come with an IDL certificate guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of the item.

Initially, IDL certificates were available only with loose diamonds; this is the first time ever that IDL is certifying diamond jewellery. This marks a new beginning for the company's innovative services aimed at boosting consumer confidence in diamonds.

Peter Meeus, CEO of IDL, said, “IDL certificates are a trademark of quality, objectivity and trust and we are proud to extend our services to diamond jewellery.

Currently, IDL certified diamond jewellery will be available through Damas' wide retail network across 16 countries including all GCC markets, gradually we expect more retailers to make use of this certification services.”

“There is a strong industry demand for accurate diamond grading services which assure customers that the diamonds they purchase are of the exact quality they expect. We aim to provide precise grading through a scientific and objective approach using cutting edge technologies.
