Gander Mountain, the nation's largest retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, boating, marine, and outdoor lifestyle apparel and footwear, products and services celebrates the Grand Opening of its 114th store at 8195 Gander Way in Roanoke.

The Grand Opening ceremonies begin on Friday, May 2, at 8:00 A.M., when world-class archer and Gander Mountain Elite Pro-Staff member, Ray Howell, cuts the ceremonial ribbon with an arrow shot from 30 yards.

Several well-known outdoor personalities will help celebrate throughout the Grand Opening weekend including: Michael Waddell, host of "REALTREE Road Trips" and Gander Mountain's "We Live Outdoors" television programs; O'Neill Williams, creator, producer and television and radio host of "O'Neill Outside" and the television program "Southern Outdoors"; and, Hank Parker, two time BASS Masters Classic Champion and television host of "Hank Parker's Outdoor Magazine".

Gander Mountain will be giving away a variety of gift cards, water bottles, Gander Mountain caps and t-shirts to a limited number of "first shoppers" on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The 66,000 square foot store anchors Gander Mountain Plaza, a 43 acre multi-use development that will include Camping World and Tractor Supply Company when they open this summer. Gander Mountain's store will be a community attraction with its apparel, products and services tailored to Virginia's outdoors enthusiasts.

Customers will find in the store a broad selection of apparel and footwear, firearms, equipment for hunting and fishing, archery and camping equipment. Canoes and kayaks will be displayed inside and outside of the store.
