The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has become a Platinum Sponsor, in addition to hosting a cultural reception for visiting dignitaries, presenting designers, participating models, the media and invited guests.

Arianne Etuk, spokesperson for the organizers, explained that they are pleased with the enthusiasm and support demonstrated by the Ministry and indicated that the Ministry has also agreed to be involved in a number of areas of execution such as the promotion of the event internationally, the greeting of dignitaries at the airport, assistance with the hospitality suites and registration process, and support to the visiting press and fashion media.

Ms. Etuk conveyed the organizers' gratitude to DHL, the prestigious international courier service company, for its commitment in transportation of the garments and accessories of presenting designers and other material for the event. She noted that DHL has developed an impressive track record for excellent service provided to a number of other fashion events, and expressed that the local management team of Messrs. Rommel Knowles and Wallace have already been extremely supportive.

Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) cosmetics line has agreed to provide all of the make-up for the event and will be sending a team of make-up artists to work with the designers and models. Ms. Etuk communicated that the principals of Mode Îles Ltd. were in discussions with several top model-management agencies out of London, New York, and Miami to provide models for the shows. These models will be complemented and supplemented by professional models selected through casting calls in the Bahamas, Cuba, and Jamaica.
