When buyers from all over the world visit Gallery in August it will not only be a show window with the latest trends within fashion, shoes and accessories but also one of the first CO2 neutral fashion fairs in the world.

Saving of energy and consideration for the environment is on the agenda around the world. And this is the basis for the promise that Gallery has chosen to cast in connection to the fashion fair in August. Hereby, Gallery is one of the first fashion fairs to cast a promise concerning the environment.

- We have simply chosen to be one of the first fashion fairs in the world to be CO2 neutral, explains Christian Maibom from Gallery, who at the moment is quite busy with getting the last contracts in place to the fashion fair in Forum Copenhagen – a fair that primarily has focus on Scandinavian design driven fashion brands.

- Based on the anticipated use of electricity, water, heat, taxi, air travel etc, we have calculated the amount of CO2 that we emit in connection to the holding of Gallery in Forum Copenhagen.

Subsequently, we have bought a UN authorized CO2 quota which correspond to twice amount of CO2 emission at Gallery, continues Christian Maibom.

The Ministry of Climate and Energy has also approved Gallery as a worthy partner in the saving of energy campaign '1tonmindre' (1 ton less).

- First of all, we are looking forward to a fair, where the purpose is to show high-end fashion, but if it is possible to think green thoughts at the same time then we have a perfect constellation, concludes Christian Maibom.

Gallery has more environmentally conscious plans. In the future, the plan of action is not only compensation via quotas but also an active reduction of CO2 emission by thinking in a green way when using source of light, carpets etc.
