The trend to professionalize and consolidate Brazilian fashion brands was confirmed when AMC Textil, the group that possess brands names such as Colcci, Carmelita, Sommer bought brands that included Forum, Tufi Duek and Triton among their possessions.
The first to explore this path was Renato Kherlakian, the designer of Zoomp and Zapping. As the business expanded, his company by the name of holding IM - Identidade Moda (Fashion Identity) incorporated to its portfolio other brands like Alexandre Herchcovitch, Fauze Haten, Cúmplice and Clube Chocolate.
Ellus and 2nd Floor, founded by Nelson Alvarenga, followed the trend. Alvarenga became a partner of the Pactual Capital Partners, owner of the holding IM brands that recently bought Isabela Capeto, a “griffe” from Rio de Janeiro.
However, some controversial news has been raised in the market concerning some of these takeovers.
