In June, the Texbrasil Program, created by ABIT in partnership with Apex-Brasil, brought eight international buyers to the country to participate in showrooms and events in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
After doing business at Fashion Business, Fashion Rio's commercial area, the buyers from Russia, England, the Philippines, Japan and Portugal visited ABIT where they participated in a meeting with Texbrasil Program professionals and got to know a little more about the Brazilian textile and apparel segment.
Philippine buyer, Ferdinand Salvador, is in Brazil for the third time: “I feel at home and safe here due to the similarities between the Philippines and Brazil,” he said.
With regard to purchases, he said Rio is a better market for more casual clothes, and São Paulo for more sophisticated clothes, probably due to the colder climate.
The showrooms visited by the buyers include: Clube de Estilo, Galpão 08, Casa Moda, Contemporâneo, Grupo Galeria and Grupo Hôtel.
