Spanish shoe label El Naturalista is one of the key players, a company taking on its responsibilities for the future. Since being founded in 2001 it has invested in social aid projects and more specifically in the eco-friendly production process of its collections made of natural materials.

By using only recyclable materials and substances the company makes a real contribution to the environment. Urban Lounge: relaxing in a stress-free environment The Urban Lounge arose in cooperation with the El Naturalista brand in the urban spirit segment in Hall 1.

A bar and spacious pool and chill-out areas make the lounge a great meeting point. With its organic catering zone the area offers a variety of healthy snacks and refreshments.

A waterfall with video projections and numerous decorative elements inspired by nature give the area a pleasant atmosphere.

All furnishings and decorative elements in the zone are made of eco-friendly, recyclable and therefore forward-looking materials.

Terra Plana The Terra Plana label was elected the “Ethical Fashion Product of the Year 2007” by the readers of British newspaper The Observer. Innovation, high quality and environmental conscience: this is the mission of the British footwear brand.

Galahad Clark has managed the label since 2003 and cooperates with some of the most creative “bods” in the industry, who have already worked for such renowned shoe brands as Bally (Chie Nomura) and Prada (Ajoy Sahu).

Terra Plana are characterised by appealing and extraordinary designs but also by highest quality finish and durability. The panoply of materials employed ranges from chrome-free and specially tanned leathers to recycled or reworked cardbox shoe boxes, car safety belts, parachutes or blankets.

To avoid unnecessary transport often materials from the region are used at the production sites. Most shoe styles are very lightweight and have flexible soles allowing feet to move in their original and, hence, healthiest, manner – as if barefoot.

The portion of glues is reduced to a minimum by sewing almost all individual components. Where glues/adhesives are indispensable Terra Plana uses water-based ones.

Leather is treated with vegetable extracts; this natural tanning method ensures particularly soft leather qualities and provides an environment-saving alternative to tanning with chrome.

L'O There is more than just summer fashion fun to these beach shoes available at German retail stores in Spring 2009 for the first time.

The shoes fuse environmental awareness with a special design approach, “retail friendliness” and a focus on shoppers' needs. All styles are made of recyclable and eco-friendly PVC.

Once there is no further use for the shoes, shoppers are invited to return them to selected stores to receive a 3-Euro voucher for a new pair. The discarded products are then recycled and processed into new shoes.

Simple, flowing and ergonomic shapes are the design characteristics typical of this comfy “shoe newcomer” as is their construction. All styles consist of two pieces: the moulded sole and the loose footbed.

The new collection comes in maritime blue, citrus yellow and grass green. And the footbed can also be combined in a variety of colours.

The fashion statements are made by diamante rivets for the ladies and a camouflage footbed for men next season. The styles are manufactured 100% in Italy, hand-made in part. Retailers can order entirely according to demand and re-order individual sizes and colours.
