WLIFW schedules model hunt for SPRING - SUMMER 2009

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, India's leading business of fashion event, announced that the national model auditions will be held on 3 September 2008 at Yantra, The Park hotel. One of the key objectives of The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) is to promote the “supporting” star cast of WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK.

Model auditions for the WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK are an integral part of the event and a driving force in establishing our NEW FACES GOING PLACES. Over the years, FDCI has played a vital role in supporting and promoting some of India's young talent who have grown to become household names. They range from apparel manufacturers, accessory manufacturers, models, makeup artists, hair stylists, choreographers and the fashion media.

Mr. Sunil Sethi, President, Fashion Design Council of India said, “As an industry body, our aim is to promote and encourage new talent in the rapidly changing business of fashion.

The model auditions are an important element of the entire process of WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK. Models are critical in showcasing designer collections, they play an important role in generating business for the designers and can be called key to the business of fashion.”

Mr. Atul Chand, Vice President, Marketing, ITC's Lifestyle Retailing, said, “Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week is a great platform to recognize and nurture emerging talent. We will be looking for young talented models who can become the face of fashion tomorrow and our best wishes to all of them.”

FDCI is looking for:
Models, who can display confidence, have sense of poise and carry attitude on the runway. Models from all stature are welcome to participate at the model auditions, they can belong to either India's top league of models or be a new comer or be a fresh face in the industry. Some of the models who went places are Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon, Barbora Brabcova, Neha Kapur, Sonalika Sahay and Nikita Anand.

The Jury members for the model auditions would consist of:

Designers Rohit Gandhi, Ranna Gill and Ace choreographer Vidyun Singh among others would be the jury for the auditions.
