Damas lends support to 'Eid in Dubai' campaign

In line with the Dubai government's efforts to promote Islamic values and Emirati traditions during Eid Al Fitr, Damas - the leading international jewellery retailer in the Middle East -- has lent its full support to the 'Eid in Dubai' campaign spearheaded by the Dubai Shopping Festival Committee. The initiative taps the business community in spreading the spirit of giving and sharing among Dubai residents through innovative activities.

Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas, commented: “As a sponsor of 'Eid in Dubai' campaign, Damas has drawn up a grand promotion highlighted by the launch of a limited edition Eid pendant from the Crystal Aya Collection, a special raffle draw and a charity project that would benefit the UAE Red Crescent.

Over the years, Damas has staunchly promoted values that enrich our heritage. This year we are proud to associate with a pioneering initiative, and as our humble contribution, we have adopted the theme of 'Giving' in all our activities throughout the Holy Month. We have designed a program that encourages people to share their blessings and deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings.”

The focal point of the grand promotion that runs until October 5 is the limited edition Eid pendant from the Crystal Aya collection – a special creation that bears the world's smallest complete rendition of the Holy Q'uran. Crafted in 18 carat gold and accentuated by choice diamonds, Oud wood, turquoise, malachite, agate as well as white and black mother of pearl, the stunning Eid pendant is available in 89 shops across the UAE and select shops in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Abdullah explained: “The special pendant reminds every Muslim of his or her obligation to internalise the readings of the Holy Q'uran. Each pendant carries a piece of Oud, a type of wood traditionally used to gives a pleasant and distinct Arabic scent to the Holy Q'uran whenever it is opened and read. What makes owning an Eid pendant even more significant is that a contribution of AED100 is made to the UAE Red Crescent with every purchase. The shopper is provided with a special coupon as proof of the charitable gesture.

In keeping with the theme of 'Giving', Damas will raffle off 18 all-expenses-paid trips for two to Saudi Arabia (Umrah), Turkey, Maldives or Egypt and 3 kilos of gold as daily and weekly prizes, respectively. Every purchase worth AED 2,500 and above at any participating Damas shop entitles shoppers to enter the draw.

What's more, Damas has partnered with HSBC, Citibank and Mashreq banks to make Eid shopping even more convenient. HSBC offers interest-free credit for purchases of diamond and gold jewels while Citibank and Mashreq provide interest-free credit for minimum jewellery purchase of AED1000.

Damas showcases exquisitely-crafted in-house collections designed with the region's jewellery lovers in mind. From traditional to modern, ornate to minimalist, formal to casual, there is always a piece to suit every mood and occasion. In addition, each signature jewel carries the outstanding design and craftsmanship that have been associated with Damas for many years.

Spread cheers and goodwill this Eid by visiting any of 89 participating Damas shops across the UAE and select shops in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia (promotion and products vary in overseas shops).
