'Fashion Week Tampa Bay' to start on Sept 24

Mayor Pam Iorio has issued a proclamation officially declaring September 24-27, 2008 as “Fashion Week Tampa Bay.” Scheduled runway shows will feature a talented line-up of fashion and accessories designers from the southeast region.

Week's activities include:
Sept. 24th: VIP Cocktail Reception (private/invitation only) at the Tampa Artist Emporium in Hyde Park at 6pm.
• Exclusive sneak peak of the premier episode of Season 2 of NBC's Lipstick Jungle: 7pm
• Book signing by author Casey Wohl of the Girls Getaway Guide

Sept. 25th: Designer Runway Shows and Boutique at The Ritz Ybor in Ybor City. Doors open at 6pm, runway shows start at 7pm. Featured designers include: Trineice Cagua, Bebe Ziegler, Francisco Azucar Robert Buck, Aruk Ochrrvani and Darrius Mitchell. Plus an exclusive International Academy of Design & Technology Student Showcase.

Sept. 26th: Designer Runway Shows and Boutique at The Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg. Doors open at 6pm, runway shows start at 7pm. Featured designers include: Ivanka Ska, Essence Flowers, Shante Styles, Pat McGhee, Rhonda Shear and Sam Varela. A private press preview event will be held at the Salvador Dali Museum from 1-2:30pm.

Sept. 27th: Fashion Brunch & Silent Auction will be held at the Pacific Wave Restaurant in St. Petersburg.

This inaugural year event is open to the general public and will benefit Best Buddies of Tampa, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities, and the YWCA of Tampa Bay, a group which strives to create opportunities for women's growth, leadership and power.
