Apparel and Accessories Show starts on Oct 17 at CMC

From October 17-21, 2008, the California Market Center will open its doors to retailers from across the nation and the world for the Spring '09 Los Angeles Fashion Market. Always the largest Fashion Market of the year, this October the CMC will feature four temporary trade shows (FOCUS, TRANSIT, Brighte by ENK, MOM2B), four fashion shows (Voom by Joy Han, Sue Wong, MOM2B, Downtown At Dusk), as well as the hundreds of permanent showrooms throughout the building.

Also new this Fashion Market, is the official launch of the redesigned Front Patio and Main Lobby. With outdoor furniture and planters installed, new Herculite glass entryway doors, new Lobby furniture by Design Within Reach, and new Pucci Mannequins from the Anna Sui Collection, the California Market Center has become an even more welcoming home to guests and permanent tenants.

The CMC Showrooms will be showing from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM daily throughout Market. In addition to the many resources throughout the building, a few of the new featured tenants include the Heather G Showroom and the Seduce Showroom offering contemporary collections, and the Thea Showroom featuring new kids collections.

FOCUS | Apparel and Accessories Show starts Friday, October 17, 2008 from 9:00AM –5:00PM until Monday, October 20, 2008 in the Penthouse (on Floor 13A). A few notable exhibiting collections include men's line grnappletree, the men and women's accessory and apparel collection Tretorn, and new line, Soldat Tailoring, as well as collections by many other new and returning collections.

TRANSIT | The Los Angeles Shoe Show will take place in the Penthouse (Floor 13B) from Saturday, October 18 – Monday October 20, 2008 from 9:00AM – 5:00PM. Featured lines include L.A.M.B, Frye, Royal Elastics and DV by Dolce Vita. Also returning to the CMC's Fashion Theater and Annex is Brighte by ENK. They will host its contemporary show from Friday, October 17, 2008 through Monday, October 20, 2008.

New to the CMC is the maternity, nursing and baby tradeshow Mom2B. Mom2B will be exhibiting on Friday and Saturday October 17 -18, 2008 at the Rear Patio & Exhibit Hall (off the Main Lobby C-wing) from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, and on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 9:00AM-3:00PM. On Friday, Mom2B will host a fashion show in the Marquee Tent on the Front Patio at 11:30 AM, featuring various collections from their exhibitors.

In addition to the Mom2B Fashion Show, the CMC is excited to host a number of other shows and presentations throughout the Market. On Friday from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM, famed designer Sue Wong will welcome buyers to “Sue Wong's Spring Exotica” featuring informal modeling as well as cocktails in the Main Lobby.

Friday's exclusive invite only event, Downtown at Dusk – An Evening of Downtown Fashion hosted by the LA Fashion District will take place from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM in the Marquee Tent on the CMC Front Patio. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will speak and officially open the October 2008 LA Fashion Market, followed by Mary Dohler of IDG who will present REVEAL LA…The Fashion and Design Event. Invited guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while viewing collections from showrooms from the California Market Center, The Cooper Design Space, The New Mart and The Gerry Building.

Lastly on Saturday, October 18, 2008 Voom by Joy Han will be showing her collection at 6:30 PM with cocktails and a pre-reception at 6:00PM in the Marquee Tent on the Front Patio.

As always, The California Market Center is pleased to offer retailer amenities, such as complimentary coffee, buyer breakfast every morning from 8:30AM-10:30AM, hotel shuttle service, buyer orientations and more.
