It was a stunning bridal wear collection that Abdul Halder presented for Spring/Summer 2009. Moving away from his regular western formal evening gowns; Abdul proved that he is an expert with traditional men's and women's ethnic wear too. The colour palettes were a vibrant one - so popular with the Indian buyers.
Purple, blue, pink, fuchsia, green, turq, red and orange were used for men's stately sherwanis and Jodhpuri jackets as well as lehengas and cholis, saris, shararas, ghararas and achkans. The embellishments were dazzling gold pitta, zari and gota work and the sari borders glistened with crystals.
The beautiful fabrics like silk dupion, taffeta, georgette, nets and velvet came together for a wonderful festive wear line which will be a great hit for bridal trousseaux. Bollywood star, Shweta Bharadwaj made a show stopping entry in a gold lehenga with a tiny sheer green choli.
