Al Jaber Trading, the leading corporate entity in the city, presents the stylish and glamorous new Ray-Ban Spring/Summer 2009 Sunglasses collection.

One of the most coveted brands in the world, Ray-Ban is identified with tradition, freedom and originality in a distinct, unmistakable style; aspects that have ensured its position as world leader in sun and optical eyewear since 1937.

It shot to prominence when it was chosen for American Air force pilots during the Second World War due to the functionality and effective protection from the sun that its glasses offered through a combination of ultra-light frames and innovative green lenses designed to absorb infrared and ultraviolet rays.

The brand's new Spring/Summer 2009 Sun collection is defined by solid and two-tone coloured acetate models with titanium frames offering superb minimalistic styling on pure lines with a contemporary feel.

“Ray-Ban remains one of the world's top most brands with an age-defying appeal. Its Aviator model remains one of the world's iconic designs. The brand is incidentally the official partner with the Honda Racing F 1 Team.

Its new Ray-Ban Spring/Summer 2009 Sun collection is supremely lightweight and offers superb designs with excellent finish that is sure to gain the brand yet more fans,” said Ahmed Jaber, Managing Director, Al Jaber Trading.

Sought world over, Ray-Ban's iconic Aviator model became famous when General Douglas MacArthur landed on the beach in the Philippines in World War II, and photographers snapped pictures of him wearing them.

It's a brand often worn in movies, starting with the 1961 Audrey Hepburn movie 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. Will Smith too wore them in 'Men in Black' and more recently, none other than president-elect Barack Obama has been photographed wearing Ray-Ban sunglasses.

RB 4125 CATS 5000:
A reissue of the historic “Cats” model, the “Cats 5000” injection-moulded acetate frame features curved teardrop lenses and a double-bridge with intricate crafting including vintage hinges and the iconic brand logo on the arms.

It's offered in a palette of 11 shades including a combination of green lenses with classic shiny black (601) alongside newer combinations with deep red (730) dark purple (737) and burgundy (739) as well as shiny Havana with anti-reflective blue gradient brown lenses (710/51) and brown with polarized lenses (710/57).

RB 4126 CATS 1000:
A reissue of the original “Cats” model, the “Cats 1000” is a woman's model featuring the characteristic elongated shape minus the masculine double-bridge with a more fulsome, curvaceous design for its lenses, offset by slim arms. Fine detailing, finish, vintage hinges and the brand logo on the arms add allure.

Its colour choices are trendy and youthful ranging from classic shiny black with green glass lenses (601), to shiny sand with anti-reflective blue gradient brown lenses (719/51), as well as purple with green lenses (737) and lilac, holding gradient pink silver mirrored lenses (738/3E).
