Converse launches an expanded footwear collection for Spring 2009 including new silhouettes, designs, fabrications and materials. The company also broadens its Jack Purcell and Converse by John Varvatos offerings and announces the reissue of the legendary Weapon '86 shoe and others, all with a fresh, modern approach.

Iconic styles such as Jack Purcell and Chuck Taylor All Star shoes are reconsidered with fresh and original updates like clean, minimal low-profile construction; while unique treatments and materials such as garment dyes and metallics elevate and accent the classic designs.

Across the board, all of the Spring 2009 collections blend modern style with the Converse spirit and attitude that continues to inspire originality.

"The Converse spring collection is exciting and varied," says John Hoke Vice President Global Footwear. "Jack Purcell and Converse by John Varvatos have both come into their own as bold and exciting premium lines with very distinct personalities. The debut of our Weapon '86 collection brings the true spirit and fun of the game back onto the parquet or the street. Chuck Taylor All Star continues to grow and innovate with styles and collaborations that are inspired by its fans worldwide."

Converse Collection

Jack Purcell IT and Jack Purcell LTT

Rugged high–tops refined, Converse debuts the Jack Purcell IT version of the classic shoe. Built on the foundation of the iconic Jack Purcell shoe, these high-tops blend the clean sophistication of the Jack Purcell's iconic detailing with sporty attitude.

Eye-catching, crisp, black patent, contrasts with supple leather uppers in both black and white versions giving the shoes step-out style. Padded collar uppers with two rows of D-ring eyelets counter-balance Jack Purcell refinement, with a rugged, clean look. Equally as sharp, the Jack Purcell LTT shoes simply take the iconic Jack Purcell shoe and incorporates clean, perforated patent leather uppers, to create a black and a white, ultra-stylish versions of the iconic shoe. Both styles feature premium, detailed linings and ultra-comfortable foot-bed cushioning.
