Joanna Lumley to host 2009 UK Fashion Export Awards

Top actress Joanna Lumley will be hosting this year's UK Fashion Export Awards, which will be presented on 4 June 2009 at The Landmark London by HRH The Princess Royal. This year, finalists have been announced in seven of the 11 categories. They are:

Winners of the Designer Business, Footwear, Retailer of the Year and the Gold Award will be announced on the day.

The judging panel, chaired by Steve Newbold, managing director, Emap Connect, included Muriel Piaser, representing Prêt à Porter Paris, Nick Cook of Moda Menswear, Stuart Rock of Real Business and Sue Butler of Kurt Salmon Associates.

Headline sponsors of the event are HSBC and Scottish Development International, which are supporting the Awards for the first time, plus the British Clothing Industry Association and The Retail Bulletin.

The prize list for this year's UK Fashion Export Awards includes stands at So Ethic in Paris, Moda Menswear in Birmingham, Prêt à Porter Paris or The Train New York, Mode City Paris & Interfilière and Pure Accessories in London. Other prizes include subscriptions to WGSN.com.

Tickets to the Awards lunch booked before 24 April for members of UK Fashion Exports/BCIA .
