Neo-Grunge rocks at Londonedge

In 2008, new-goth was the word on the high street but in 2009, neo-grunge is the buzz word and alternative fashion trade shows Londonedge and Londoncentral are the perfect hunting ground.

Characterised by heavy layering, natural colours and a fusion of tweed, knits and flannel, neo-grunge incorporates key garments including lumberjack shirts, kilts, bleached jeans, colourful leggings and knitted hats.

At Londoncentral you'll find Tranquillo's bohemian skirts and Afghani trousers in earthy tones and pastels. Layer them with loose-fitting tops and patterned scarves. See www.tranquillo-shop.de to see more or find them at the online trade show Londonedge LIVE (www.londonedgelive.com).

Long-term Londonedge exhibitors, US-based Lucky Lenn offer Rockabilly clothing for men and women. Their men's plaid pants and Liquorbrand Tartan Cowgirl Shirts are neo-grunge classics. Visit them at www.lucky13apparel.com or at Londonedge LIVE.

The girls should team New Rock's range of biker boots with pretty floral dresses or T.U.K. Shoes' vintage style hi-top sneakers with skinny jeans and layered knits. Visit www.newrock.es or www.tukshoes.co.uk to see the full ranges.

Meanwhile the guys should opt for slouchy Converse trainers with a plaid shirt from Londonedge exhibitors, Sourpuss Clothing. Bring the look up to date with their tight-fitting men's Dogpile Stretch Jeans in blue denim. Catch them at the show or at www.sourpussclothing.com beforehand.

From over-sized knitted beanie hats to men's tartan trousers, you'll find the complete neo-grunge look at Londonedge and Londoncentral. The next Londonedge and Londoncentral will take place from 6-8th September 2009 at Olympia 2, London, W14.
