The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) announced three appointments to the AAFA Board of Directors and welcomed new committee-level officers to three of its fourteen committees.

Seasoned AAFA Board member Philip C. Williamson, Chairman, President and CEO of Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company, has been appointed to serve as secretary of the AAFA. He joins Carol J. Hochman, (chairperson) CEO of Triumph Apparel Marketing, Killick S. Datta (vice chair), CEO of International Brand Partners, LLC, and Rick Darling (treasurer), President of Li & Fung USA, as officers of the AAFA Board of Directors.

“I am very pleased to welcome Philip as secretary to the AAFA Board of Directors,” said AAFA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “His experience at the Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company provides him with the necessary knowledge to drive our association forward. As his continued service on the Board has demonstrated, his leadership and insight will be helpful as we work to get through these difficult times.”

Paul Buxbaum, the new CEO of Haggar Corporation, and Jeff Crisco, Vice President of Asheboro Elastics Corporation, have been appointed to the AAFA Board of Directors.

“I am also delighted to welcome Paul and Jeff to the Board of Directors,” stated Burke. “Paul and Jeff are forward-thinking individuals and are well-suited to address the current challenges our industry is overcoming. I look forward to working closely with them as we plan for a bright future in the U.S. apparel and footwear business.”

“While the U.S. apparel and footwear industry relies on the expertise of the AAFA to remain competitive in the global market, the AAFA relies on the active participation of our members,” said Burke. “Our innovative committee-style leadership system helps us keep abreast of the many issues facing the industry. Over the last few weeks, several committees have selected new officers. I am eager to welcome our new committee officers and look forward to continuing our work.”
