'My goal is to opt apparel as a medium for advocacy' - Nnamdi Arinze

Personal Advisory is urban apparel meets underground advocacy agency and manufacturer and is quickly breaking through the clutter of the T-shirt trend, by attracting attention and preserving heroes and advocating global social issues through progressive designs and concepts.

The collection has rendered high demand in top fashion urban markets such as: New York, Atlanta, London and Johannesburg. Since its launch in March 2008, over 200 boutiques worldwide have been targeted with wholesale packages and they've exceeded their original forecast of 1,000 pieces in less than a year.

Many major boutiques are stocking their shelves with what has proven 2009 to be the year of the T-shirt. As more and more manufacturers and retailers approach the fashion scene with their branded logos and large slogans, Personal Advisory works to eradicate propaganda and remove the "rose-colored glasses," revealing true headlines to the masses through t-shirt design. "I feel this is something that people have been waiting to connect with, even if it is on a t-shirt level," says founder Nnamdi Arinze of Personal Advisory.

A member from T-Shirt Forum.com recently posted the following comment: "When I wear my T-shirt ... I'm expressing my personal view ... and also trying to attract a little attention in a world where people blow past each other in a frantic quest to get nowhere."

This demonstrates that people are using something as simple as a T-shirt to convey a message. Whether it's self-expression or a social cause, people believe T-shirts are more than just a fashion statement.

"My goal is to opt apparel as a medium for advocacy and preservation of music, revolution, love, heroes, hypocrisy spirituality, the forgotten and unknown, but all in a smart and fashionable way," says Nnamdi Arinze.

Publications such as YRB have featured the line in their fashion spreads. Hip Hop artists such as Stic Man from the legendary hip hop duo Dead Prez and Broadway star Sahr Ngaujah of Fela Kuti have been spotted wearing Personal Advisory's T-shirts. This is only the beginning. Whether social and global change is sparked or a mere smile made, Personal Advisory will continue to attract attention and raise awareness through their hip designs and concepts.
