PBA announces new BoD & Officer appointments

The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is honored to announce the organization's new 2009 - 2010 Board of Directors and Officers.
Each of the members has a strong commitment to serve PBA's continued efforts and mission in creating a more unified voice for the benefit of the entire industry. They will continue to develop key initiatives including: PBA Beauty Week, advanced education, government advocacy, and charitable outreach. "It is a privilege to serve as Chair of PBA and along with the Board, we look forward to fostering continued industry growth and the overall unification of the professional beauty industry like never before," states Bruce Selan, PBA's newly elected Chair.
The Board also looks forward to the proposed merger with the National Cosmetology Association (NCA) in an effort to combine best practices and leveraging the strengths, assets and member benefits of each group.

PBA's Newly Elected Executive Committee:
Bruce Selan / Chair: A 35 year veteran of the professional beauty industry, Bruce Selan has spent his entire career with Zotos/Helene Curtis. As Vice President of Core Brands at Zotos, he is dedicated to seeing distributors grow all areas of their business and giving salons the education and tools needed to succeed. Selan is a partner with both ABA and PBA, and has served on the board for over 15 years. Selan is focused on continued unification of the beauty industry.
Josh Hafetz / Vice Chair: JoshHafetzisPresident of Raylon Corporation, a full service distributor servicing salons in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Hafetz regularly provides educational outreach to stylists and salon owners to help them achieve greater financial and personal success. Over the last 2 years he has increased his involvement in the industry by serving on the PBA Distributor Leadership Council. Through his service as a member of the PBA Distributor Leadership Council and PBA Governing Council, Hafetz hopes to continue to contribute to the future success of the industry.
Max Wexler / Treasurer: Max Wexler is President of Beauty Craft Supply & Equipment Company and a 40 year veteran of the beauty industry. While working his way through college selling beauty supplies, Wexler earned his Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University Law School. After practicing law for six years and simultaneously selling beauty supplies, he decided to focus on expanding Beauty Craft.
Steve Sleeper, PBA's Executive Director serves as Secretary for the Executive Committee.
