The second edition of Beautyworld India was warmly welcomed by exhibitors and visitors alike, even as unexpected torrential rain hit Mumbai without warning during the event.

Event: Beautyworld India 2009
Venue:International Trade Fair for Perfumery, Toiletries, Cosmetics, Hairdressers and Healthcare / Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai 4 – 6 October 2009

The only professional trading venue for the international cosmetic industry and the Indian retail market was declared open by the President of Intercoiffure Mondial, Mr. Klaus Peter Ochs. The much needed exclusive trading platform from which the domestic business is all set to grow, featured 55 exhibitors and registered approximately 4479 trade visitors. The positive start lasted throughout the three days of the exhibition and ensured that exhibitors achieved what they came for – to meet the market.

The beauty industry is in its nascent stage in India, its distribution systems are still being formed, its salon business still in its infancy, its import structures and policies still being tweaked to meet the expectations of a global industry.“Yet Messe Frankfurt India continues its investment in the market without hesitation, and the industry has reacted very positively”, said Ms. Shammi Nagpal, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt India. “Even as rains battered Mumbai, the industry was not to be deterred. They came to the fair with clear ideas of what to buy and sell, what workshops to attend, what competitions to enter. They went away fully satisfied and I believe, we have established the event very positively for our clients and the market at large”.

The second edition of Beautyworld India continued to set standards with style and substance. Both exhibitors and visitors were highly appreciative of the organization of the event. No expense was spared to provide a lush and luxury setting for an industry that is all about beauty. Neither was any expense spared to provide the industry with high quality workshops and renowned speakers from all over the world. The Indian media was highly appreciative of Beautyworld India, covering its many workshops, exhibitors and a wide range of products most favorably in the daily newspapers and many on-line portals.

While the exhibitors from 13 countries formed a valuable basis for a professional show, the 16 workshops conducted by high profile personalities from the cosmetic sector formed the core of the fair and attracted the attention of the media and visitors alike.

Germany's star hairstylist and President of Intercoiffure Mondial, Mr. Klaus Peter Ochs was the highlight of the fair, staging daily Hair & fashion shows much to the delight of the consumer and manufacturer alike. Commenting on the event, he said, “I was astonished to see the quality and presentation of Beautyworld India. It was calm and beautiful, yet, business was being transacted all around and there were interested and enthusiastic visitors. The attendance at my workshops was excellent. They came to learn new techniques because they obviously want to grow and offer their best to their clients in the market.I think Beautyworld India has a great future and will definitely grow. There is a lot of potential in this market and an event like this is absolutely the need of the hour”.
