From mid-September, MANGO stores will have a new limited edition: Chosen By Naty. This is a selection of garments created by the former model Naty Abascal, based on her exquisite taste and the experience she has gained during her long career in the fashion world.
The mini-collection, created for a modern, sophisticated and elegant woman, is made up of suits and dresses for night and day wear, jackets and oversized coats, in addition to a range of accessories. In total, it consists of 25 garments and 8 accessories.
To launch the collection, a photo shoot was held featuring Patricia Medina Abascal, which was supervised by her aunt Naty, the two being very similar in appearance. During the session, Patricia reveals all the glamour of this limited edition.
Naty Abascal began her modelling career working for the Spanish designer Elio Berhanyer in New York. She would later become a cover girl for Harper's Bazaar and set up residence in the Big Apple, where she was signed up by the Ford agency. It was here that she met Oscar de la Renta, with whom she had a long personal and professional relationship. Three years later, she met Valentino, and became his muse from this moment onwards.
Her final appearance on the catwalk was in the 80s, specifically at the launch of the first collection by the acclaimed designer Carolina Herrera, with whom she remains good friends.
Naty Abascal has always been linked to the world of fashion and art. Among other projects, she appeared in the Woody Allen film Bananas and in her youth was painted by Salvador Dalí.
