Art to Wear– steppin' out in style

American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists - AATCC sponsors Collection X: Art to Wear Fashion Show 2011, April 12, 7 p.m., Reynolds Coliseum, North Carolina State University.

Students of North Carolina State University's (NCSU) College of Design (COD) and College of Textiles (COT) are hosting Collection X: Art to Wear Fashion Show 2011 on April 12.

Billed as “anything but your typical fashion show,” the show attracted 3,200 attendees in 2010. It has been covered worldwide in media outlets including ABC News, Worth Global Style Network, and Textile World.

This year promises to be the most exciting ever as the show marks its 10th anniversary. AATCC, celebrating its 90th year of service to textile education and industry, is a proud co-sponsor of Art to Wear 2011. AATCC will have a booth at the show, to promote student memberships and activities. Come and find out more about AATCC student chapters!

Student run and professionally juried, Art to Wear has established itself with unique works ranging from ready-to-wear to couture garments. Many of the show's participants have been involved since their freshman year at NCSU. “Last year [I was] both designer and director of the whole show. I am very excited to be a part of this year's 10th Anniversary celebrations," says Eleanor Hoffman, Art to Wear 2010 director. Leigh Hawkins, co-director of the 2011 show, is equally enthusiastic. "Worth every single minute of work. I can't wait to see what the designers for 2011 create!”
