FDCI announces 15 Hi-5 designers @ WLIFW Autumn/Winter

Punctuating its commitment to nurturing and promoting designers in the Indian fashion industry, the Fashion Design Council of India announced names of the designers showcasing under the Hi-5 Category at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2011.

The designers selected under the Hi- 5 category are:

• Bhanuni by Jyoti Sharma
• Chandrani Siingh Fllora
• Divyam Mehta
• Dolly J
• Dozakh by Kartikeya & Isha
• Jaya Rathore
• Komal Sood
• Mrinalini
• Niket & Jainee
• Pallavi Jaipur
• Rahul Singh
• Ritu & Rochana
• Saaj By Ankita
• Sonia Sarin
• Sylph By Sadan Pande


Three dedicated slots in the Hi-5 Category would be allotted to these upcoming, promising designers, who will be given the chance to showcase their talent for both pret and diffusion lines.

As India's only fashion trade event focused on the Business of Fashion, WIFW draws the biggest domestic and international buyers, media and fashionistas. This will therefore prove to
be a golden opportunity for these designers to show their creativity and mettle to India and the world.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “India has a pool of young talent waiting to be tapped. Through Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, FDCI aims to serve as a catalyst towards advancement of the Indian industry to international standards. We encourage designers so that they dream big and chart out new avenues. I wish our Hi-5 designers the very best.”

Atul Chand, Divisional Chief Executive - ITC's Lifestyle Retailing Business Division, said, “The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week is the country's biggest and most prestigious lifestyle event and each edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week sets new standards. I am sure that the younger talent to be showcased in this edition will add a lot of freshness and zing to the event; we look forward to a bigger and better edition of WIFW.”
