'East Meets West', the latest clothing collection of Kolkata-based fashion designer Jaya Misra will be showcased in London. Through her new collection, the designer aims to promote harmony and enhance cultural exchange across two different geographical regions.
The new range will highlight India's traditional weaving in front of global audience. A glimpse of collection was shown at a press conference held in the designer's Kolkata showroom.
The collection uses a number of natural fibre fabrics that are produced in India. It also elaborately uses embroideries and traditional texturing. The main attraction of the collection is clothing made from fabrics like khadi and linen, which are adorned with batik as well as dazzling Kantha embroidery.
