Q4 sales decline 1% at Hugo Boss Group

In preliminary results released for the three months ended December 310, 2016, net sales at German luxury products and apparel marketer Hugo Boss Group declined 1 per cent year over year and 3 per cent on a euro basis to €725 million. For the full year also ended December 31, 2016, sales slipped 4 per cent from a year ago period to €2,693 million.

However, the group expects operating profit in the full year of 2016, to expand and is expected to reach the upper end of the forecast range.

“In China, we completed the turnaround in the second half of the year and in Europe, we held up well in a difficult market environment,” Mark Langer, CEO of Hugo Boss said. “We will continue to work intensively on implementing our strategic plans presented in November and are confident that this will enable us to return to sustainable profitable growth.” (AR)
