A costume exhibition aptly titled “Fashion Behind the Iron Curtain” has opened in Russia’s capital Moscow.
Over 1000 outfits belonging to several celebrities of the erstwhile Soviet Union are being showcased at the expo.
The apparels displayed at the expo track the history of the Soviet dress from the 1920s to the 1990s.
The items that are being showcased include apparel, accessories and footwear, along with illustrations from photographs and fashion magazines.
The exhibition gives visitors an idea about fashion that existed in the country that has now broken apart into several independent nations.
The expo, being organized as a part of a project to trace the history of fashion from Catherine II to modern times, will go on till June 12, 2012.
