For the very first time the Thai capital city of Bangkok is gearing up to host the forthcoming edition of Sakura Collection 2014 Asia Students Award, a catwalk show-cum-design competition for the Asian fashion design students.

The contest’s winners would get the opportunity to showcase at the forthcoming international fashion event which will highlight designs by professional fashion designers from the ASEAN countries, Sakura Collection 2014 in Osaka, Japan.
Before the final competition, which will be judged by a mixed panel of Thai and Japanese professionals, an exhibition displaying the works of the nine contestants will be put up at The Mall Bangkapi, Bangkok from September 16 to 20, 2014.
The exhibit will also include ensembles from the past Sakura collections, which have been exclusively based on traditional Japanese patterns, created by well-established designers belonging to the ASEAN nations.
Sakura Collection Asia Students Award, which is also held in Malaysia and Vietnam, aims to encourage budding Asian fashion creators and promote cultural exchange within the Far-East Asian region.
