Around 50 fashion shows, hosted by a talented mix of Canadian designers, retailers and international emerging fashion names, were staged at the just wrapped up 14th edition of the Festival Mode and Design (FMD), an annual event that hosts several fashion centric events in the Canadian city of Montreal.

Designer label Travis Taddeo went all playful with its chic streetwear-inspired woven printed blue garments adorned with lace cut outs and the young brand Niapsou Design, which showcased for the very first time in the Quebec city, opted to present a brightly coloured collection made using strips of African fabrics.
In addition to the runway and mall showcases, pop-up shops promoting local talents, fashion talks by style blogger Garance Doré and conferences conducted by designer Sonia Rykiel were also organized on the sidelines of the four-day event, which attracted some 300 participants (from the design, music and beauty industries) as well as 550,000 visitors.
