Gini and Jony – a well established and renowned Indian retailer of kidswear now plans to take the brand to overseas markets like Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Gini and Jony clothing is now available across more than 1,000 retail touch points across 80 cities in India, which include large format stores, multi-brand outlets and 262 exclusive brand outlets.
The brand which began operations way back in 1994 on a modest scale by starting off with just four stitching machines is now an Rs 5 billion brand, growing at a brisk 30 percent year-on-year and an 11 percent share of the organised kidswear market.
As its vision, Gini and Jony hopes to be the forerunner in the branded kidswear category by increasing its share of space in the kids wardrobe and also strengthen their width and depth in terms of offerings and presence as the fashion destination store for kids.
Speaking to fibre2fashion, Mr Anil Lakhani – ED at Gini & Jony says, “We have the widest merchandise range catering to both boys and girls. We make trendy, yet comfortable clothing for the kids”.
He further informs, “Kidswear is designed with contemporary designs, by maintaining the most stringent norms in terms of quality standards. For instance satin / silk garments have 100% cotton lining inside, for wearer comfort”.
“Now as our expansion strategy, we plan to expand and open outlets in neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal”, he reveals.
