German luxury apparel retail chain Escada is once again trying its luck in the Romanian market.
Romanian fashion designer Romanita Iovan has re-launched the brand in Romania by opening an 81 sq m brand outlet in The Grand Avenue in Bucharest.
Earlier in 2002 too, Iovan launched the brand in Romania by setting up an Escada outlet on Victorier Road, but it closed just five years after the launch, as it made loss.
After filing for bankruptcy in 2009, Escada, which first originated in Munich in 1976, was taken over by Megha Mittal, the daughter-in-law of steel king Lakshmi Mittal.
Escada now marks its presence in around 80 countries across the globe with around 1,100 outlets.
The shopping gallery Grand Avenue has about 5,000 sq m of retail space within the multifunctional compound, and houses stores of other retail brands like Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Alfred Dunhill, Mihai Albu, Sartoria, Ermanno Scervino, Vilebrequin and Avanti Furs.
