Tailoring is updated with a new, cleaner profile. Light spring knits sit alongside a floral lace organza skirt, a peplum organza top, ditsy floral print shift dresses and a tapestry print pair of culottes - a new style for Somerset. Scoop back jersey tops in black and cream are also a new addition to the collection.
In accessories, flatforms will sit alongside a new version of last summer’s best-selling thong sandal with metal plating. Detailing continues to be key in the buckled gladiator heels and laser cut brogues.
A best-seller from autumn winter 2013, the cross body bag has been updated for the summer season with different sizes for daytime and evening. Pony skin continues into handbags, with a statement box top handle bag.
Alice Temperley, MBE, comments, “The spring summer Somerset collection has a summer evening feel, from the loose fit of the clothes to the eclectic prints. Taking inspiration from the softly pleated, high-waisted dresses synonymous of Ossie Clark, this season the collection embodies a feminine feel whilst staying true to the tailored Somerset aesthetic.”
Jo Hooper, Head of Womenswear Buying, added, “The new collection is built on a range of separates that can all be worn together. The addition of jersey tops provides an easy solution for everyday dressing, offering the option to dress head-to-toe in Somerset.”
Amanda Scott, Head of Buying, Accessories, John Lewis, says, “This season, our accessories draw from a natural colour palette, punctuated with animal print. The flat leopard print espadrille pump will be a hero product for the season and will look effortlessly chic when teamed with the matching leopard print satchel with equestrian buckle.”
