The day was kicked off at sunrise in Puerto Rico with Hurley Pro surfers, Nat Young and Brian Toth, sharing the morning with fans and finding some time to hit the waves at Isabela Beach. From the surf to the sandy beaches of Florida, a gathering at Miami Beach brought together sun seekers who were treated to GSOM-themed umbrellas and towels. The day then progressed throughout the East Coast, hitting the cities of D.C., Philly, Boston and New York City.

For those looking to have an early morning adventure in D.C., PacSun took them on a day of whitewater tubing down the Potomac River. In Philadelphia, guests lined up at the famous Geno's Steak for a free cheesesteak – there was even an appearance by the owner, Geno. Bostonians received a free breakfast from Boston Brewin Coffee; New Yorkers gathered to listen to a noon-time show featuring Raekwon & Ghostface Killah at the House of Vans.

As the day's activities progressed, people in cities such as Chicago, Denver and Portland found themselves picking up tickets to attend events occurring later Saturday night. Tickets were distributed in Downtown Denver to a Skrillex concert at Red Rock Amphitheatre; and baseball fans had a chance to take in the Cubs game from the Sky Lounge Wrigley Rooftop with the exciting game in clear view, and food and beverages at the ready. At Burnside Skatepark in Portland, people who were there to celebrate "Go Skateboarding Day" received free product from Diamond Supply Co. and treats from the popular Voodoo Doughnuts van.
